General comments:
Widespread but local resident.

Records thin out towards urbanised areas. This is normally a single-brooded species. The small second peak of September adults has developed since the end of the 1990s - prior to then it seems to have been a univoltine species. Adult colour fades rapidly and most captured moths are white!

Recorded in 35 (85%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1887.
Last Recorded in 2023.
